This basic campground sits within the Upper Loddon State Forest and features a single picnic table and wood fire barbecue pit. 

A large clearing provides plenty of space for pitching tents and parking cars, and the riverside setting makes this a great scenic spot for a camping trip.

This is one of two bush camps in the vicinity. Upper Loddon Bush Camp 2 is located just a few moments further down the track from here. 

Campground access

Access to the camp sites is via Up and Down Track, and is suitable for 4wd vehicles only. 



  • Camping is a great way to explore the Victorian Goldfields. Many campgrounds are located close to interesting attractions and historic sites, and the Goldfields region is certainly not lacking in fascinating things to discover. 
  • There are hundreds of fantastic barbecue areas throughout the Victorian Goldfields. Some are in parks/playgrounds, others are scattered throughout the bush. Many barbecue areas are located alongside amazing attractions and walks, so go out for a barbecue and get exploring!
