Collins Place is a beautiful, well maintained park in the heart of Clunes, Victoria's first gold town.

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue lunch as you explore all the fantastic attractions Clunes has to offer.

Collins Place features a picnic table, free electric barbecues, a drinking fountain, an undercover area, toilets, lush green lawns, and is alongside the town's information centre.


The Clunes Farmers Market is held at Collins Place and Fraser Street on the second Sunday of every month, 9am - 1pm.

A plaque at the Fraser Street entrance to Collins Place reads:

1997 - Collins Place Committee of Management and residents of Clunes recognise the achievements of Charles. H. Fenton for the original design and supervision of the construction of Collins Place


A Golden Way Heritage Trail sign displays a historical photograph of Fraser Street with the following caption:

Fraser Street

Bolam & Hewat occupied Albion House as Tailors and Outfitters. Nichol and Wallace traded as Ironmongers and Timber Merchants. Initial commercial development commenced along Lower Fraser Street c 1856. Revuilding occurred in the central section during late 1860s and 1870s. Upper Fraser Street was a busy area. Upper and Lower Fraser Streets declined in the late 19th Century.
