Features

Take a walk through the scenic Breakneck Gorge, a stunning natural feature alongside the Hepburn-Newstead Road. You can reach Breakneck Gorge directly from the roadside or via a walk from The Blowhole, a historical gold diversion tunnel on Sailors Creek which now forms a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole!

How to get to Breakneck Gorge      


Breakneck Gorge is visible from the car as you drive over the bridge and accessible on foot via the Dry Diggings Track, from the signposted point along Hepburn-Newstead Road. The walking track through Breakneck Gorge to The Blowhole nearby is 3 km (1 hour).


Additional notes

The track is steep and uneven in parts, but is clear and well signposted. Watch out for snakes during summer, and if you are entering Breakneck Gorge from Hepburn-Newstead Road be wary of fast oncoming traffic.
