Established in 1873, the beautifully presented Waterloo Cemetery sits surrounded by farmland, a small bushland reserve and a meandering creek. The cemetery features a decorative fence and sign at its entrance. 

This is an interesting place to stop by for a look while passing through the area. The cemetery also marks the beginning of a great walk through the Baxter Lead Alluvial Gold Mining Precinct.

Bushwalking Victoria presents a day walk through the nearby Waterloo State Forest, beginning and ending at the Waterloo Cemetery. This walk takes you through the Baxter Lead Alluvial Gold Mining Precinct, which contains the remnants of five small-scale deep lead mines.
