Railway Dam is a quiet spot on the edge of the Fryers Range State Forest, between Chewton and Elphinstone.
Bring a picnic blanket and have lunch by the dam before heading off on the
Junction Walk, an educational track which begins in a clearing over the other side of Railway Dam Road.
The dam is set down a steep hill alongside Railway Dam Road, and is surrounded by various other dirt tracks which are great for bushwalking.
The clearing across the road also makes a great free bush camping area, but please note that there are no facilities available.
How to get to Railway Dam
Railway Dam is accessed by Railway Dam Road, which comes off the Pyrenees Highway in Chewton.
