Railway Dam is a quiet spot on the edge of the Fryers Range State Forest, between Chewton and Elphinstone. Bring a picnic blanket and have lunch by the dam before heading off on the Junction Walk, an educational track which begins in a clearing over the other side of Railway Dam Road.

The dam is set down a steep hill alongside Railway Dam Road, and is surrounded by various other dirt tracks which are great for bushwalking.

The clearing across the road also makes a great free bush camping area, but please note that there are no facilities available.
