Bostock Reservoir is a gorgeous fishing and picnic destination in Ballan, where stunning scenery is accompanied by excellent visitor facilities. A picnic area featuring multiple undercover barbecues and picnic tables sits along the shore of the reservoir, providing an amazing destination for family fishing trips. Walking and birdwatching are also popular here.

On calm days when the water is still the pine trees which surround the lake reflect in the water like a mirror image, much like at the beautiful St George's Lake in Creswick, creating a great opportunity for photographers.

Please note that swimming is not permitted at Bostock Reservoir.

The Ballan Mineral Spring is also located along Shaws Road, just before you reach the reservoir.

Picnics at Bostock Reservoir

There are multiple undercover picnic areas situated between the shore of Bostock Reservoir and the large gravel parking area off Shaws Road. Several sheltered barbecues are complemented by a collection of picnic tables, each with nice views over the water. There is plenty of space for several groups to enjoy the picnic facilities at once.

Rubbish bins are scattered throughout the picnic ground, and a toilet block is alongside the car park.
