  • Historic stone building
This beautiful building is situated along Mollison Street in Kyneton, just one of many striking heritage buildings throughout the town.

A sign on the front of the building reads:

Caroline Chisholm House
Circa 1855

You can get a good look at this building as it stands right alongside the footpath. You can look in through the windows, but do not enter the property.

Caroline Chisholm was a 19th century humanitarian who became known as the 'emigrant's friend' for her work concerning the welfare of females, families and gold miners in Australia. Caroline lived in Kyneton briefly in the late 1850s.

Kyneton is a gorgeous town to visit, filled with remarkable bluestone buildings and beautiful public spaces.
