Best fenced playgrounds in the Victorian Goldfields

When it comes to taking small children/toddlers out for a play at the park, a simple fence can make a world of difference! Parents are able to relax while their children play in a safe area, fenced off from traffic, water, and other hazards. We've gathered together some of our favourite fenced playgrounds throughout the Victorian Goldfields, take a look and find some fresh ideas for your next family day out. 

Heathcote Playspace, Heathcote VIC

The Heathcote Playspace is a bright, colourful and creative play area, uniquely designed to reflect the region's significance as a grape-growing centre. A huge wooden barrel is incorporated into the playground's central play structure, and half-barrels are used as planters throughout the play space. The playground includes many more interesting features such as a mini Heathcote Market, a balancing ring made out of wine barrels, and a manual water pump (which flows into another barrel, of course). Although there is an open gate here, and the fences at the back are simply wire fences, the park is largely enclosed and set back from the road. Victoria Park's fantastic Inclusive Playspace lies within a huge fenced area, featuring a wide array of play equipment complemented by undercover picnic areas. Together with the sports ovals and scenic walking paths throughout the park, this makes a great spot to spend an afternoon with the family.
