Picnics at the Bristol Hill Apex Playground

This is a great place to stop by for a picnic or barbecue lunch before exploring the historical features of the adjacent Bristol Hill historic area.

A free barbecue is set beneath a shelter along with a bench seat, and a picnic table sits out in the sun alongside the barbecue.

A second picnic shelter is located over the other side of miners drive, which contains a picnic table.

Walks from the Bristol Hill Apex Playground

There are a number of interesting and educational walking tracks, which begin just behind the playground.

Bristol Hill Pioneers Memorial Tower

This park features a great information sign about the Bristol Hill Pioneers Memorial Tower, which displays the following text along with a historical photograph:

Bristol Hill Tower commemorates the pioneers who settled in Maryborough after gold was discovered in the district in 1854. Built by the unemployed, the tower (designed by E J Peck) was opened by George Frost MLA on 16 April 1933. It contains a spiral staircase of bluestone steps from the old Maryborough Gaol.
