Goldfields Reservoir

Located right on the outskirts of town, Goldfields Reservoir is a great place for a swim, kayak, picnic or bushwalk. The shallow water by the boat ramp and the newly constructed nature play space make this a great place to bring the kids for a splash as well.

Deep Creek

Tullaroop Creek, known locally as Deep Creek, Carisbrook VIC

Spend an afternoon swimming, walking and picnicking at Carisbrook's Bland Reserve, a charming park along the bank of Tullaroop Creek, known locally as Deep Creek. A playground and picnic tables are set along a grassy lawn, and several scenic walking tracks set out from here.

O'Sullivan - Tilley Memorial Park

O'Sullivan - Tilley Memorial Park in Baringhup VIC

Set along the Loddon River in Baringhup, this peaceful park is a great place for swimming, fishing and bushwalking. While the bank is fairly steep to access the water, there are plenty of great spots to set up with a fishing rod or make your way down to the river for a swim.  A single picnic table overlooks the water, and there is a dirt road which travels through the park along the river bank which makes a great scenic walk.

Three Bridges

Three Bridges is a picturesque crossing of the Loddon River in Eddington, Victoria, named because the gravel road winds its way over the water across three bridges. An arrangement of the rocks beside the main bridge forms a stunning multi-level pool and spa, turning this crossing into a gorgeous, tranquil retreat along the river.

Hamiltons Crossing

This free camping area sits along the banks of the beautiful Loddon River in Baringhup West, Victoria. Have a swim or relax on the banks with a fishing rod while you enjoy the serene atmosphere of this peaceful spot. This part of the creek is often quite shallow, making it a great place to bring the kids for a dip.

Picnic Point is a great swimming, fishing and picnic area set on the shore of Cairn Curran Reservoir. An enclosed undercover area contains a picnic table and fire places, a boat ramp provides access to the water, and there are plenty of spots to set up for fishing along the rocky shore. 


Mount Cameron Gorge

Mount Cameron Gorge is a beautiful swimming and fishing spot just 25 minutes from Maryborough and 15 minutes from Clunes. Mt Cameron-Cotswold Road drops unexpectedly into a deep gorge before crossing the scenic Tullaroop Creek. A low bridge crosses the water, with a small cascade to one side and an excellent swimming area to the other. This area is great to bring kids swimming as the creek floor is covered with smooth stones and there's a fair stretch of shallow water before it starts to get deeper.

Waanyarra Bushland Reserve

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue lunch while looking down over the water at the Waanyarra Bushland Reserve, where the beautiful Loddon River joins the scenic Laanecoorie Reservoir. Two picnic tables sit above the waters edge offering excellent views over the river and a wood fire barbecue / fire pit sits alongside one of the tables. This is a peaceful spot for swimming, fishing, bushwalking and birdwatching.

LAANECOORIE RESERVOIR

Laanecoorie Reservoir is a popular spot for swimming, fishing, boating and picnicking, with two ideal swimming/boating spots set along its shore at Brownbill Reserve and Ankers Causeway. There's also a great lookout and walking track up at the weir.

The Laanecoorie River Recreation Reserve is a fantastic campground along the Loddon River in the quiet town of Laanecoorie. Popular for swimming, fishing, kayaking/canoeing and walking, this reserve is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon or stay for the weekend.

Bealiba Reservoir

Bealiba Reservoir, Bealiba VIC

The Bealiba Reservoir Recreation area is a fantastic spot for camping, picnics, fishing, swimming and bushwalking. There are three picnic sites around the small reservoir, two of which are well equipped with tables, chairs and fire pits. Two non-flush toilets are close to the picnic areas. The dirt tracks around the reservoir make great walking/cycling tracks, and the beautiful Mount Bealiba is located up behind the reservoir.
